simple recipe for the Christmas season, delicious and decorative, playful baking fun for the whole family

Cooking is an art... one of the most complex: it involves creativity, aesthetics, craftsmanship, decoration, homemade, science, chemistry, physics, biology, painting, sculpture and much more. In this post, I would like to tell you how I made these little men out of sweet curd-oil dough.
They are aesthetically cute to look at and show off and offer you an opportunity to express your creativity, to form different body shapes, animals or other creative forms, giving free rein to your craftsmanship. You can decorate them with raisins - here they are the buttons, of course you can also use them as eyes - or with fabric ribbon - mine are wearing a pink scarf... Just use anything you can think of, edible or not. You can also give them a small flag with a message: depending on the size you want, all you need is a toothpick or a skewer to which you attach a piece of paper or cardboard with some masking tape. Ideal for congratulations, small messages of love, get-well wishes or a funny saying.
They are a perfect souvenir for a party, as a dessert for a birthday or Christmas party or a dinner with friends, a welcome gift for any occasion and can of course also be baked with gluten-free flour.
The Weckmänner are a fun and tasty activity - alone, with your friends or with your children.
You need the following ingredients
250 g quark
10 tbsp milk
10 tbsp oil
6 tbsp sugar
2 sachets of vanilla sugar
1 pinch of salt
grated lemon peel
475 g flour
1 1/2 sachet baking powder
1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk to coat
Raisins for decoration
Preparation
Mix the ingredients for the dough, add the flour and baking powder last and knead well.
Shape the biscuits, brush with the egg yolk and milk mixture and decorate with raisins.
Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C until golden brown.
Depending on the time of year, the dough can also be used to make cute bunnies (for Easter) or little pigs (as a lucky charm for New Year).
Would you have guessed that there are so many aspects hidden in the kitchen and in the preparation of this simple pastry? Do you like my Weckmänner, even if they're not really a work of art? Perhaps you have already baked some yourself and would like to send me a photo of yours? I look forward to hearing more about it... don't hesitate to contact me! Of course, I would also be delighted if you shared this or other posts with as many interested people as possible... You would be doing me a favor, supporting my blog and at the same time you can give some inspiration and quality time to all those you want to reach out to. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
A hug and see you soon!
