fascinating do-it-yourself upcycling display for a pretty and tidy collection of sunglasses as a small mindfulness exercise in everyday life

Are you also tired of constantly not knowing where to put your sunglasses or are you a neat freak? Are you also a sunglasses lover (or do you have sunglasses in your family)? Do you enjoy looking at your sunglasses and keeping an eye on them? Do you also think it's a shame to spend huge sums of money on beautiful sunglasses that remain locked away in a drawer and are only occasionally allowed out in the fresh air? Or maybe you're just one of those people who simply never finds a pair of sunglasses when you need them?
Did you know that tidying up and putting everything in order has a positive psychological effect on our inner peace? ... that order on the outside can also help us to bring order to our inner world?
Here is a captivating, creative recycling idea for an old wire coat hanger that allows you to bring order to your collection of glasses and turn them into a decorative piece of furniture that brings you joy (and a hint of sunshine) every day. Incidentally, the glasses also look good on the wall on rainy days...
We hang our sunglasses right by the front door next to the mirror so that we can decide which sunglasses we want to wear before we go out - check how they look on us in the mirror and start the day in the best possible way - ready for any sunny day!
To put this idea into practice, you need
sunglasses, of course
a metal coat hanger with non-slip rubber coating
1-3 nails
If you are the proud owner of many pairs of sunglasses, all you need to do is hammer a small nail into the wall (or ceiling) to which the nylon cord is attached. The hook of the hanger hangs from the lower end of the nylon thread in a small knotted loop. However, if there are only a few pairs of sunglasses (or many are often carried out at the same time - presumably by several people) or the sunglasses are quite light, it can be helpful to also fasten the hanger at the outer ends with nylon thread at the side or diagonally underneath. This will prevent them from turning or tilting. Now you can hang up your sunglasses and admire them every day...
Enjoy your new decorative element and all your sunglasses. You'll see how much fun it is to choose your glasses every day as if they were a piece of clothing, to complete your outfit with the matching glasses and to look at the world through different colored lenses every day... perhaps also in a figurative sense, as an exercise in mindfulness. You can also take advantage of the fact that every color has a different effect on us (you can find out more about this here - "Colors of Mindfulness"). It's worth trying the proverbial rose-colored glasses - after wearing them for half a day for the first time, I knew where the saying came from and am grateful to have my own rose-colored glasses at hand for some moments.
PS. As you can see, you can of course decorate the hanger with a photo, Polaroid or postcard using a small wooden clip to put a smile on your face before you step out the door... that's always the best thing you can do for your face and your beauty :-) ! Take it to heart, smile about it and let me know how it worked out.
There are more posts on my blog with a slight wink for a little smile in everyday life, such as the unique papier-mâché goat head as a wall decoration or the earring with an animal motif. Take a look at them - maybe there's an idea for you.
