impressive snail shell earring

a minimalist Zen beauty of nature

Hello and welcome to my blog for decoration, do-it-yourself, gifts for people you love and little beautiful things that make life better. In this post, as on the whole blog, you will find ideas that can inspire you and that you can copy, useful or curious information and sometimes a little philosophy and reflections on life.

In this post, I'll tell you how I made my earring from a snail shell, but also how a spiral, the geometric figure that snails wear, is a symbol that can be found in nature, in all cultures and also in the universe...

The symbol of the spiral has a meaning that ranges from the concepts of energy and fertility, rotation, cyclical processes, labyrinths and expansion to radiance, development, continuity, creation, evolution and the creative consciousness of the universe. The shape of the spiral is used in many cultures throughout human history. One motive for its fascination is the universal mathematics inherent in the logarithmic spiral (also known as the golden spiral or miracle spiral), as it is the geometric expression of the golden ratio and Archimedes' constant or circle number Pi (3.1415...) and is associated with the Fibonacci sequence and the Platonic solids.

Curiously, many plant and animal species in nature are subject to this universal law, as their growth follows this geometric progression, which is perceived as beauty. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but as a rule we perceive as "beautiful" what follows the proportions of the golden ratio... Interesting, isn't it?

The spiral can also be found in DNA, in air vortices or water vortices and in some galaxies such as our own Milky Way.

Anyway, I only created the earring from the snail shell... I researched the rest on the internet so I could tell you about it.

For the snail shell earring you need:

All you need to do is carefully drill a small hole in the snail shell, into which you hang a small silver ring to attach the ear hook. That's it! Something else I forgot - before you drill the hole in the snail shell, it is a good idea to cover the shell with transparent varnish and leave it to dry completely so that it is more resistant and won't break when you drill it or wear it later.

This is actually one of the easiest projects to make on my blog, and I think it's also one of the prettiest. I love wearing my snail shell earring and am delighted by the fact that very few people can resist commenting or asking about it when I wear it.

What do you think of the snail shell earring? Did you like the information about the spiral? I look forward to reading from you. If you have already made similar earrings, please send me a photo or tips for my next pair of earrings. If you like this post and my blog, what do you think about sharing it with your friends? It would be my pleasure and I thank you in advance. A hug and see you soon!
