beautiful, fascinating ear decoration for globetrotters
Maybe this is your first time on my blog, maybe not. I'm glad you're here - it means we might be starting to build a bit of a connection. If you're already an avid visitor, I'm even happier - it suggests that we already have a connection and I'd love to continue and build on it.
At the risk of seeming strange, I'll reiterate, as in another of my posts, that I love homemade accessories such as earrings, bracelets, necklaces and other small pieces of jewelry for dressing or for the home. For me, being in a bead store has an effect like the one you feel when you do something you are passionate about; like an artist seized by a creative impulse, when you suddenly perceive only the here and now, without thoughts or worries, when you get into "the flow", taken by a sublime happy light-heartedness during which you can forget hunger, tiredness or other needs... Time stands still or at least changes its speed (sometimes it passes more slowly or flies by like nothing...)
Alongside my other passions such as hand lettering, decorating, sewing, interior design and pretty gift wrapping, my love for special DIY earrings is a big one!
Among the pretty little things I bought in a bead store with the thought that I would definitely use them at some point were the following for the globe earring:
Bead in the shape of a globe
In the list you will also find some links to buy accessories online if there is no bead store near you or if you want to store from the comfort of your sofa. If you purchase them via the link, I will receive a small commission of about 2%, without any higher price for you, which helps me to keep this blog alive, to provide you with ideas, instructions and inspiration so that you can easily create pretty items, jewelry, decorations, gift wrapping and much more with your own hands.
As you can see in the photos, I have threaded a bead cast from resin in the shape of a globe onto a silver wire about 4 cm long. The wire pin is connected to the ear hook via a small eyelet. I bent the end of the wire into a decorative spiral with a small pair of pliers to hold the "pearl world" in place. That's all - finished!
Like many other earrings on this DIY blog, my new globe earring goes with many different outfits and enhances any simple casual styling in an instant and is an eye-catcher. Wearing special earrings is also a way of communicating with others - at least to the most attentive observers, they tell something about us, our personality, our passions, in this case for example about our love of travel or our love of the environment, our individuality and at the same time - to put it somewhat pathetically - perhaps about our sense of connection with the world. This earring with a globe has often been a stimulating topic of conversation: where I got it, how I made it, why I came up with such an idea, why I like it and why I actually wear it....
An earring like this is a beautiful gift, easy and inexpensive to make, for anyone who likes to travel the world, has a fascination for the diversity of our planet and enjoys pretty little things.
Do you like my earring in the shape of a globe or anything else on my blog? Did you like this post or another one? If so, what do you think about sharing it with your friends? It would give me great pleasure and I thank you for it. I would love to hear what you think and find out about you as my reader. Feel free to write to me - I look forward to hearing from you. A hug and see you soon!
