sensational, modern, minimalist DIY decoration for the ear

Hello and welcome to my blog. In this post, I'll tell you how you can create these beautiful earrings from Plexiglas - modern, minimalist and elegant. For these earrings, I used plexiglass plates that I had left over from a goldsmithing course I took some time ago. I talk about the goldsmithing course in the two posts "homemade unique finger rings" and "necklace pendant/brooch", if you feel like reading them. In a goldsmithing course, you can not only use gold and silver, but also a variety of other materials such as wood, glass, stones or plexiglass.

These two small plates already had the desired shape and a hole for the thread. However, you can also cut the Plexiglas to size yourself using a small saw. Instead of a handsaw, you can also use a jigsaw or a rotating saw blade for a small hand router, which you can also use to create a hole. In this case, you would probably have to sand the edges afterwards with fine sandpaper, which is usually used for metal. You can also finish the surface if you wish. The plastic of my earrings is slightly matt, which makes them look more elegant than with a shiny surface.

Using a black plastic wire, I threaded the small plates in a trapezoid shape to hang them on the ear hook. The upper ends of the wire lead into a small black bead that covers the knot. The wire is flexible and slightly elastic, soft enough to knot well and stiff enough to stay knotted.

These earrings are very versatile as they go perfectly with both everyday outfits and elegant clothing. As we all know, elegance lies in simplicity.

These pendants can of course not only be used for earrings, but also as necklace or key rings. They are even suitable as labels with lettering. You can either engrave something on them, write on them or decorate them with one or more rhinestones, but I'll leave that up to your imagination and creativity.
