customized cell phone case

practical and beautiful - a quick DIY project

I like to think that if you're reading this post, we probably have something in common.... certainly the fact of owning a smartphone and probably that we both like beautiful handmade DIY-style little things and that anything to do with decoration and aesthetics holds a certain fascination for us.

In this post, I'll tell you how I fashioned my felt phone case. I had been looking for a cell phone case for a long time and finally found one. Simple and beautiful. However, after some time and excessive use, the rubber to close it was worn out. Of course, I could have simply sewn on a black elastic band again, but with a slight modification I had the feeling of having a "new" phone case again for a while. I didn't want to waste time looking for a really new one and it didn't seem right to produce waste by throwing away mine, which was still fine apart from the worn-out elastic.

So I thought about how I could upgrade the phone case and make it a bit prettier. I found this patterned elastic in the haberdashery department and replaced the black default elastic with it and also sewed the colorful buttons onto the flap. A new old cell phone cover - I can look forward to it every time I take my cell phone out of my pocket.

I consider such an "object" to be something that can bring a little beauty into our everyday lives in addition to its task of protecting the phone. What's more, a personalized phone case like this makes the perfect gift for a friend or daughter.

I'm not going to describe in detail how to sew on the elastic and buttons - if you have any questions, I'd be happy if you just asked me personally. You can probably sew on buttons, but if you've never done it before, I'll be happy to help you - it's not difficult! As always - feel free to contact me; even if you just want to let me know if you liked this post or idea or not, or if you want to chat about something you found in another post, or maybe something else entirely. I invite you to share this post with potentially interested people to support me. Feel free to visit my social media channels or browse a little here on the blog to find more inspiration.

A hug and see you soon!
