blue contrast earrings

unforgettable homemade DIY earrings to dream about

As we all know, life is made up of contrasts. I don't want to give you a long list of contrasts that come to mind. I'm sure you can think of plenty too. In this post, however, I would like to tell you how I designed and created these blue earrings based on the concept of contrast and how you too can make earrings like these. The individual elements that make up the earrings are united by the color blue. The blue creates a reference of similarity, while the shapes contrast with each other: the regular symmetrical angular shape of the cube next to the soft, irregular natural shape of the colored seeds of - I think - an African fruit, reminiscent of a leaf.

It may not seem like it, but every now and then there is some thought or wider consideration behind the pure and simple aesthetics of the things I create - these earrings are an example of what I am talking about.

As I've probably been a bit rambling in some of my other posts and taken too long to get to the point due to the joy and enthusiasm of communicating, I'll get straight to the point here!

What you need:

  • blue tokens

  • blue dice beads

  • small blue, polished beads

  • gold openwork beads

  • wire

  • ear hooks

If you don't like the somewhat random aspect of the seed discs or you can't find any suitable ones in the stores or online, you can also shape them yourself from polymer clay or cut them out of Plexiglas sheets with a small cutter and then heat them with a hairdryer and bend them into the desired dynamic shape... We remain flexible and creative.

The procedure is always the same, as already described in my other blog posts on earrings. I start with a piece of wire about 3 cm long, which either already has a pre-formed eyelet at the end or the eyelet at the end of which I form with small pliers. The ear hook is attached to this eyelet. The beads are threaded onto the wire, leaving enough space at the other end to be able to bend another eyelet. The small plate is integrated into this second eyelet. If you choose the right size for the small wire ring at the end, the plate will remain flexible and will later swing slightly with every movement of the head.

This project, like my other DIY projects - jewelry, decoration, furnishings and everything that has to do with the little things that make life more beautiful - is also very easy and inexpensive to make. It's an ideal gift for ourselves or for someone we care about.

What do you think? What thoughts does the concept of contrast trigger in you? What is the first thought that comes to your mind when you think of contrasts in life? Are there any pleasant or fascinating contrasts among those that come to mind? I would be happy to discuss all this and more with you and hear your opinion on the matter. Feel free to contact me and write to me - you can imagine me as your pen pal with whom you exchange thoughts, experiences and feelings. I would feel honored. What are you waiting for? A hug and see you soon!
